Important Notice — Not a Law Firm
TaxProtest.net is a self-service research and document preparation tool. We are not a law firm, and we do not provide legal advice or tax advice. Use of this service does not create an attorney-client relationship. TaxProtest.net does not represent property owners before appraisal review boards or any governmental body. You are solely responsible for filing, representing yourself, and all decisions related to your property tax protest.
1. What TaxProtest.net Provides
TaxProtest.net provides a self-service platform that allows Texas property owners to access publicly available appraisal data, generate comparable property analyses, and create evidence packets for use in their own property tax protests. This is a research and document preparation service — the TurboTax model for property tax protests.
Consistent with Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1152, TaxProtest.net does not:
- Represent you before an Appraisal Review Board (ARB)
- File protests on your behalf
- Negotiate with appraisal districts on your behalf
- Provide legal or tax advice
You file your own protest. We give you the tools and data to do it effectively.
2. Accuracy of Data
All property data is sourced from public county appraisal district records (CCAD, DCAD, Denton CAD, TAD). While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranties — express or implied — regarding the completeness, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose of any data provided. Appraisal district records may contain errors, and data may lag behind recent updates.
Estimated savings figures are projections based on comparable property data and are not guarantees of any outcome. Actual protest results depend on many factors outside our control.
3. Payment and Refunds
TaxProtest.net charges a flat fee ($59–$79 depending on the product tier) per evidence packet. Payment is processed securely via Stripe. By completing checkout, you authorize this charge.
Refund policy: Because your evidence packet is a digital document delivered immediately upon payment, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds based on protest outcome, as the result of any ARB hearing is determined by the appraisal district and factors beyond our control. If you experience a technical failure preventing delivery of your packet, contact us at [email protected] within 7 days and we will reissue it at no charge.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when looking up your property
- Use the evidence packet only for lawful property tax protest purposes
- Not resell, redistribute, or sublicense any evidence packet
- File your own protest by the applicable deadline (generally May 15 or 30 days from notice)
- Verify all data in the packet before submitting it to your county
5. Intellectual Property
The TaxProtest.net platform, including its software, design, AI-generated narratives, and methodology, is proprietary. Public appraisal data reproduced in evidence packets is sourced from government records and is not our intellectual property.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxProtest.net and its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this service, including but not limited to: lost tax savings, missed filing deadlines, or reliance on inaccurate data.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific evidence packet at issue.
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Collin County, Texas.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of TaxProtest.net after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
